Paola Chakhtoura
/

With an educational background in Law, Psychology, and Public Health, Paola worked as a research assistant at AUB’s Social and Behavioral Sciences Department right after university before moving on to Clemenceau Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins, where she worked as a Patient Services Coordinator and was selected to become a Service Excellence Trainer certified by Johns Hopkins. She later joined the American Lebanese Chamber of Commerce as its Executive Director where she has been managing all programs, projects, committees, and activities, and coordinating between its member companies and other organizations, locally and internationally.
She recently created and organized “Startup Lebanon” in New York City, in collaboration with Startup Megaphone, which was the first global event about Lebanese Startups.
In 2010 she was selected as one of 15 young Arab leaders to complete the “Arab American Business Fellowship” Program (AABF) in the United States, organized by Business for Diplomatic Action, the Young Arab Leaders, and the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy.
She is currently also Editor in Chief of “Drifter’s Guide to the Planet” www.driftersguidetotheplanet.com and Junior Editor of Elle Magazine (Middle East).
She is passionate about human and animal welfare, music, theatre, and travel.
