Lara Kanso completed her studies in French Literature at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, where she also followed courses in Film Analysis.
She is currently finishing a Master in Theater at IESAV. Her passion for theater and performance was ignited after the war in 2006. She opened her event planning company, O de Rose, to fulfill her need for the “Human and the Beautiful.” Lara designed and organized several artistic events of which: “Mots et Modes”, inspired by the poems of Nadia Tueini, within the Beyrouth Capitale Mondiale du Livre in 2009; “In the Mood of Klimt”, inspired by the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt; “Randonnée Musicale” in 2011 and in 2013, an outdoor event at the Chouf Reserve which gathered musicians and singers performing under the Cedar trees; several concerts of classical music; “Achiqata et Warde” in 2012, a performance including dance and chants of Soufi inspiration. Her most recent creation, “Les Noces de Zahwa” is a multiartistic theatrical performance in which painting, contemporary dance, chants and poems illustrate the theme of the crime of honor and the violence it inflicts on the beings of this earth.
