GGIT is back with its 7th event, taking place on November 16, 2018 at Antonine University. The event will feature 12 workshops around STEM related topics, targeting around 200 girl students from grades 10, 11 and 12 and from private and public schools in Beqaa.
The event will kick off with welcoming remarks shared by Ms. Asmahan Zein, LLWB President followed by a keynote speech which will be shared by Mr. Tony Reaidy, Administrative Director at Antonine Univeristy Zahle.
Two inspirational speakers will then be sharing their experiences with the students including Mr. Hassane Slaibi, CEO and Co-founder of Band Industries and Ms. Haneen el-Sayed, Human Development Economist at the World Bank. Following the keynote speeches, students will join the workshops by the end of which they will gather back for the awards and closing ceremonies.
The Girls Got IT initiative is implemented through the collaboration between LLWB, Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT), Women in Technology (WIT), Women in Engineering and Arab Women in Computing (ArabWic), and in partnership with UNICEF.
