Within SAWI Project, an awareness campaign was launched to protect women from sexual harassment at work, and LLWB’s President Yusr Sabra took part in it, as she raised her voice to set an example for women who are afraid to speak and unable to protect themselves.
In fact, employers cannot discriminate or infringe on the legally established rights of sexually harassed victims, directly or indirectly, whether through disciplinary penalties, terms of pay, promotion, transfer, or work contract renewal.
And just so you’re aware, Sexual harassment is punishable by law in Lebanon since December 2020, carrying up to two years in prison or a penalty 10-20 times the minimum wage.
Everyone can be a victim of sexual harassment at work. Studies show that you are more likely to be harassed if you are younger, a woman, and employed at entry-level.
So, file a complaint or seek support. Take measures to protect you and any witnesses, throughout all stages of investigation, and up to the trial.
Just say No to harassment. Law 205 protects us all.
