Through conversations with stakeholders from the public sector, LLWB noticed the need for publicly available data around the context surrounding women’s employment and promotion in the public sector. This knowledge, shedding a gender lens on the recruitment, selection and promotion practices in the public sector would allow for developing recommendations and action plans that aim to create more awareness and promote gender equality within this context.
The Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB) therefore launched the project entitled “Women’s employment in the public sector: towards empowerment and representation” in September 2018. The project aims to (1) gather and disseminate knowledge around the context surrounding women’s employment in the public sector, (3) develop and implement training workshops around identified areas of gap in the process of supporting women’s employment and promotion in the public sector and finally (3) create circles of dialogue between women in senior level positions in the public sector and the private sector.
By the end of the project, a final report including findings around the topic at hand, recommendations and suggested action plans will be developed and disseminated to the public.
This project is funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands and will be implemented over a period of one year ending September 2019.
